Indian wedding highlight from Sun Beat Films at the Hotel Californian, planned by Amy Nichols Special Events

We’re thrilled to share this highlight film reel from our clients’ colorful Indian wedding celebration at the Hotel Californian, produced by Sun Beat Films. Priya & Kevin loved spending time in Santa Barbara and felt that the stunning views and warm weather would make for a perfect destination wedding setting for their guests coming from both California and the East Coast. They started the wedding with a welcome party and mehndi celebration with Pacific Ocean views to welcome everyone into town.

On their wedding day, the couple went against tradition and hosted a co-ed baraat that they both participated in before the ceremony, led by a fantastic female dhol drummer. After the baraat, guests headed to a rooftop terrace at the Hotel Californian where their friends and family watched as the couple said their vows with sweeping views of the Santa Barbara skyline and Pacific Ocean. The ceremony was officiated by a dear family friend who personalized the ceremony in a meaningful way. Ojala Floral Design designed an epic mandap with hand strung flowers in a mix of peach, white and light orange tones. One of my favorite elements was the ombre garlands (called milni) that they exchanged during the ceremony. The couple celebrated well into the night with a DJ and their favorite cuisine — Mexican food. The day was beautifully photographed by Sally Pinera. See more of this personal wedding here.
